Rose Skelton is currently working on Homescar, a collection of linked short stories set on an island in Scotland. The collection-in-progress was chosen by Peter Ho Davies for the Larry Levis Fellowship for Fiction in 2017.

Fatty Acids," the first story to from that collection, was published in Waxwing Magazine in June 2018. In September 2018 she became Fiction Editor at that magazine. 

A second story, “Heartwood,” was published by Four Way Review in August 2018.  

Rose had been a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Vermont Studio Center. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina and teaches fiction-writing classes in Scotland, where she lives, and in the USA.
